Grants Cibola County Schools is proud to honor two dedicated Board of Education members
who will be retiring after years of service: Mrs. Emily Hunt-Dailey and Mr. Ronald Ortiz.
Mrs. Emily Hunt-Dailey, who served three terms from 2013–2025, joined the board after
retiring as a teacher from Laguna-Acoma Junior/Senior High School. A proud L-A graduate
with deep ties to the community, she has long been committed to supporting students and
strengthening educational opportunities across the district.
Mr. Ronald Ortiz, a two-term board member from 2018–2025, has been a lifelong Grants
resident, has been a former Mayor of Grants, a local business owner, and a member of the
Cibola General Hospital Board. His broad community leadership has brought valuable
perspective and steady guidance to GCCS.
Their final Board of Education meeting will be held on December 16th, where the district
will formally recognize and celebrate their service, leadership, and commitment to the
students, staff, and families of Cibola County.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Mrs. Hunt-Dailey and Mr. Ortiz. Their dedication has
strengthened our schools and enriched the lives of countless students.
